Enrollment

Welcome to digital banking! Enrolling in Banno Online and Banno Mobile banking is your first step toward secure, 24/7 access to your finances. Whether you are a primary accountholder setting up your profile for the first time, or a joint user looking to establish your own independent digital access within a household, our enrollment options are designed to get you connected quickly and securely.

In both Banno Online and Banno Mobile, you can begin your digital banking journey by selecting First time user? Enroll now. The system guides you through a process to verify your identity and create a username and password. In Banno Mobile, if you’re already enrolled in Banno Online banking, you can use your online account to create a mobile account.

Retail banking end users can self-enroll in digital banking. In order to self-enroll, the end user must provide the following information:

  • Social security number
  • Account number
  • Phone number
  • Email address

The system verifies the provided details against the core banking system. If a record matching the provided details is found, access is granted based on the enrollment configuration in Banno People. If no matching record is found, the enrollment fails.

After enrollment and two-factor authentication setup are complete, the end user is automatically logged into Banno and has access to their eligible accounts.

Primary and joint users on a household can self-enroll. For a joint user, self-enrollment creates their own user associated with the given primary account. In order to self-enroll, the user must have the following information:

  • Social security number
  • Primary accountholder’s member number
  • Phone number
  • Email address

If a name record matching the details provided is found on the membership, the name record type is reviewed. If the type is primary, enrollment continues. If the type is joint, the level (share or loan) is reviewed. Access is granted based on the enrollment configuration in Banno People.

If no primary or joint name record can be found, the enrollment fails.

After enrollment and two factor authentication setup is complete, the user is automatically logged into Banno, and has access to the following information:

Joint users at the membership level
These users have access to all shares and loans on the membership. If the joint user has access to accounts on other memberships and a preference access record links the accounts, those accounts will also display. The exception is CDs, loans, and IRAs. These accounts will only show if the joint user also explicitly has a name record on the share or loan.
Joint users at the share/loan level
These users will have access to any shares or loans that have a name record with a matching social security number in the membership. If the joint user has access to accounts on other memberships and a preference access record links the accounts, those accounts will also display.

By default, the joint user has access to the following features:

  • Bill pay
  • Card management
  • Remote Deposit Capture
  • Stop Payments
  • eStatement Enrollment
  • Transfers

Credit unions can configure membership account types they wish to block from self enrollment by navigating to Settings → *Enrollment → Joint users self-enrollment. This field can be configured for account types from 00-99 or from 0000-9999, accepting ranges or individual account types. If a user of the given account type attempts to self-enroll, they are blocked from completing the enrollment.

The toggles on this page also gives credit unions control over which types of joint users are allowed to self enroll, using the following toggles to determine how Banno looks for the joint user’s name record:

Member account name
Banno looks at the membership level for a joint name record.
Share name
Banno looks at individual shares for a joint name record.
In-house loan name
Banno looks at individual in-house loans for a joint name record.
External loan name
Banno looks at individual external loans for a joint name record.
