Android App UX Design Evolution
The Banno Mobile app on Android is going through a user experience (UX) design modernization to reflect Google’s Material Design 3 standards. To ensure a cohesive, high-performing experience and gradually prepare financial institutions and your accountholders for the new UX, Jack Henry is implementing the required updates incrementally with the release of Banno Mobile versions 3.29 through 3.33.
The sections below describe the changes expected with each release, providing a bird’s eye view of the progress to date and the progress still to come.
Mobile 3.29
ShippedReleased on Thursday, November 13, 2025, Banno Mobile 3.29 on Android included one significant UX design update – all screens throughout the app now conform to Google’s new 16 KB screen-size requirement, as seen in the example screenshot below.

While preparing Mobile 3.29 for Android, our design and engineering teams were also conducting foundational research on the app’s existing template system:
- Audited current navigation patterns
- Assessed alignment with Material Design guidelines
- Evaluated where updates will best provide value
Mobile 3.30 and 3.31
BuildingOn track for release in early December 2025, Banno Mobile 3.30 on Android will include minimal UX updates (if any). Our team is still evaluating the future of how Banno Mobile will create and consume app themes on Android to fully align with Material 3 standards. Implementing this change will ensure the app evolves seamlessly with future changes to Material.
By late January 2026 (right around the release of Banno Mobile 3.31), our Mobile design and engineering teams expect to have a firm strategy in hand. At that point, we will publish additional details on the plan for the subsequent versions below.
