Verification & CIP
Verification and CIP services are an integral part of the account opening workflow that happen primarily behind the scenes in the JHA OpenAnywhere Applicant Channel and while other actions are taking place in the Employee Channel.
Customer Information Program (CIP)
The results of the CIP services are available in the Employee Channel for review purposes if needed. In the CIP module, users can choose to turn CIP services on or off, as well as edit a service’s Overview and Configuration or activate a test environment for a CIP service.
Most CIP services will run automatically; however, CIP services that require entry by the applicant will appear in the applicant’s workflow. These can include items such as Identity Authentication from FIS™ and the Customer Risk Questionnaire. CIP must be passed for the primary applicant before additional applicants’ CIP will be reviewed.
Your CIP process will depend on your vendor, but in general most CIP activities happen in the background unless specific information is required to perform the check. The rules your institution sets for CIP determine the results of the applicant’s CIP verification and validation.
The results of the CIP services are available in the Employee Channel for review purposes if needed. In the CIP module, users can choose to turn CIP services on or off, as well as edit a service’s Overview and Configuration or activate a test environment for a CIP service.
The results of these services can be combined with the results of the RISK Questionnaire to make an automated approval or denial decision, based on configuration information.
Role-based access may allow employees to override the automated decision and continue the application process.
The same CIP services that are available for consumer deposit applications are available for you to use to identify individual signers, owners, or other interested parties for business accounts.
Verification
Identity verification can include services like scanning the applicant’s identification or using Selfie Snap functionality in the Applicant Channel or via integrations with third-party vendors like IDScan.net, Alloy, and FIS™ for services such as Identity Verification, Identity Authentication, and ChexSystems QualiFile.
Current integrators for business verification include Know Your Business (KYB) services like Middesk through our integration with Alloy, and BizChex from FIS.
