App Usage
Within App Usage, you know how users engage with your mobile or online app. You can easily identify the type of user activity, analyze login behaviors, and note your rockstar users. By using preset or custom date ranges, you can also create benchmarks and gain a larger picture of your marketing efforts.
The dashboard features default date ranges for swift viewing of usage metrics, but you can also export reports with custom dates ranging within any two-year period.
Summary
Within the Summary is an overview of user and device activity.
- Sign ups
- The number of people who log into the online or mobile app without completing the digital enrollment process. Instances when users might already have their credentials include:
- Users are provided with a username and temporary password by their institution.
- An institution migrates their users and bypasses the digital enrollment process. Users log into the online or mobile app with their existing credentials.
- Retention Rate
- Percent of people returning to the mobile or online app within the past 30 days.
- Enrolled Users
- The cumulative number of people who create their online banking credentials by successfully completing the digital enrollment process.
- Active Users
- People who use the online or mobile app according to the number of unique UserIDs.
- Active Online Users
- People who use the online app according to the number of unique UserIDs and whose DeviceIDs are tied to the online app.
- Active Mobile Users
- People who use the mobile app according to the number of unique UserIDs and whose DeviceIDs are tied to the mobile app.
Logins
From the total number of logins throughout the day to differentiating between device logins, login analytics can help explain overall user behaviors and identify patterns tying into your marketing efforts. Depending on the selected date range within the Dashboard, login metrics can be viewed by month, week, or day.
- Logins
- The combined total number of users accessing the online and mobile apps during a given period of time.
- Unique Logins
- Unique logins refers to the total number of individual users accessing the online or mobile app during a given period of time, regardless how often they sign in or how they use the app. For example, a user logs into the mobile and online app a total of five times throughout the week. Banno Reports captures their UserID on five different occasions, but the UserID is counted just once towards the number of logins.
- Online Logins
- The total number of times users access the online app during a given period of time.
- Mobile Logins
- The total number of times users access the mobile app during a given period of time.
- Average logins by time of day
- The Average logins by time of day takes user activity and breaks it down into several key insights, including average login rates and hourly login patterns.
The number of times an average user logs into the online or mobile app is calculated by the average number of logins per day divided by the number of Unique logins. For example, if there were an average 166.66 logins per day and 100 Unique logins, “The average user logged in 1.67 times per day” (166.66 divided by 100).
The average number of logins per day is calculated by the number of Logins divided by the number of days during a given period of time. For example, if there were 5,000 Logins in a 30-day period, “There were an average of 166.66 logins per day” (5,000 divided by 30).
Rate limiting (last 24 hours)
The Rate Limiting chart monitors credential stuffing activity. Ideally, the graph should display “There’s no data to show” and nobody is blocked. If the chart displays data, it’s an indication that we detected credential stuffing attempts and have restricted the number of login attempts.

Signups
- Name
- Banks The end user’s information pulls from the core, including first name and last name, as well as username. If the username has not been established, the user’s NetTeller ID displays.
Credit unions The end user’s information pulls from the core, including first name and last name, as well as the username.
- The end user’s email pulls from the core.
- Phone
- The end user’s phone number pulls from the core.
- Last seen
- The number of days since a user’s account synced with the core.
Enrollments
- IP Address
- The IP address identifies a user’s specific computer or computer network.
- Started
- The date and time recording when an end user began the digital enrollment process by submitting their personal information, including:
- Social security number, EIN, or ITIN
- Account number (banks) or member number (credit unions)
- Phone number
- Last Updated
- The most recent date and time recording the end user’s last action performed within the enrollment flow, whether successful (ie. completed enrollment) or not (ie. abandoned enrollment, error, etc).
- Progress
- An enrollment report status showing the result of a user’s attempt to enroll.
- Account
- The account number is a number provided or created by the user when they begin the digital enrollment process by opening a new account.
Banks The account number can be any of the user’s bank account numbers in the core.
Credit unions The account number is the member number.
Active users
- Name
