Banno Marketing - Banno Content Setup

Create a campaign

Get started

  1. Inside the Banno platform, select Banno Marketing.
  2. In the Banno Marketing navigation, select Campaigns.
  3. Click Create a Campaign.

Add specifics

  1. Determine the Type of campaign to create. Select Campaign for your website.
  2. Add a Campaign Name - easily identify the campaign.
  3. Add a Description - help differentiate between campaigns.
  4. Add a Landing Page URL - the website page your ads should lead the user to.
  5. Enter Start Date - the date you’d like your campaign to begin.
  6. If applicable, enter Optional End Date - the date your campaign will end.
  7. Include Related Keywords - the key words and/or phrases used to describe this campaign. These connect the user history to reposition the ad.
    • Note: these should match up with the SEO Keywords on the Landing page of the site. To set, access Pages in the Banno CMS and click the title of the Landing page to open it in the editor. Select Page Options, scroll to the Search engine optimization section, and enter Keywords separated by comma.
  8. Indicate if it’s a Fallback Campaign - used to serve ads to new users or users you don’t yet have data for.
    • Note: for a Fallback Campaign, create an ad of each size to be used.

Create the campaign

Select Create.

Create an ad

Get started

  1. Inside the Banno platform, select Banno Marketing.
  2. In the Banno Marketing navigation, select Campaigns.
  3. In your list of campaigns, select Digital Banking as the type.
  4. Select the title of the campaign you want to work with.
  5. Click Create an Ad.

Add specifics

  1. Name your ad - label your individual ad.
  2. Indicate Size of ad.
    • Note: the sizes for each of your ad styles can be found in your institution’s Setup Guide, provided during implementation.
  3. Indicate Tags, if applicable, to delineate different sections of the site in order to more closely control where ads are being served. For example, you can serve a ‘Business’ ad in only a ‘Business’-designated space on your site. Additional notes below:
    • Tags are completely optional.
    • Tags should be kept simple. For example, Business, Personal, Mortgage.
    • An ad can be tagged with a single tag or multiple tags.
  4. Select HTML for type of ad.
  5. Click Continue.

Create the ad

  1. Open the source code editor by clicking the gear icon and selecting < > Source code.
  2. Paste the applicable code into the editor (based on which ad size you are creating).
    • Note: the HTML code for each ad style can be found in your institution’s Setup Guide, provided during implementation.
  3. Click OK. This will allow you to view the ad inside the editor.
  4. Replace the image. Highlight the initial image placed, then click Insert Asset. Select the image, from Assets, that you’d like to use for the ad. Click Select.
  5. Replace the text. Delete the initial text placed, then type the text you’d like to use for the ad.
  6. Set the link. Highlight the text for the link on the ad, then click Insert/Edit Link. Enter specifics for the link you’d like to use for the ad. Click OK.
  7. Click Save.

Preview the ad

  1. Click Save & Preview.
  2. Enter a URL from the site that has been set up to include a dynamic ad are of the same size ad you have created.
    • Note: testing URLs to use for previewing have been listed in your institution’s Setup Guide, provided during implementation. You can use these URLs to preview or any URL for a page on your site where a Banno Marketing ad of that size is being served.
  3. When done, click Finish.
    • Note: In preview mode, you will see the ad you are viewing in all ad areas of the same size.

Activate an ad

Get started

  1. Inside the Banno platform, select Banno Marketing.
  2. In the Banno Marketing navigation, select Campaigns.
  3. In your list of campaigns, select the title of the campaign you want to work with.

Activating ads to reposition

  1. Click on the name of the individual ad you are ready to activate. This will open the ad details.
  2. Click the switch next to Public, select Activate.
    • Note: each individual ad must be activated in order to be available to be served on the website.

Serve ads on your website

Get started

  1. Inside the Banno platform, select Banno CMS.
  2. Navigate to Pages.
  3. Click the title of the page you’d like to place the ad to open the editor.

Inserting marketing ads

  1. Click into the content area where you would like to serve Banno Marketing ads.
  2. In the Insert (+) menu, select Insert Ad.
  3. Select ad type:
    • Create a dynamic ad space: choose this option to reposition ads from the Banno Marketing library, based on user experience.
    1. Indicate Size of ad.
      • Note: the sizes for each of your ad styles can be found in your institution’s Setup Guide, provided during implementation.
    2. Add a Tag: if applicable, include tag(s) to delineate different sections of the site in order to more closely control where ads are being served. For example, you can serve a ‘Business’ ad in only a ‘Business’-designated space on your site. Additional notes below:
      • Tags are completely optional.
      • Tags should be kept simple. For example, Business, Personal, Mortgage.
      • An ad can be tagged with a single tag or multiple tags.
    • Place a specific ad: choose this option to insert a specific ad from the Banno Marketing library.
      • Note: this content will remain static on the site and will not reposition.
    1. Select campaign from list of available Banno Marketing campaigns.
    2. Select ad you would like displayed in the chosen space.
      • Note: these are separated by size.
  4. Click Insert. The Marketing icon will show in the content area, indicating the space has been set to serve Banno Marketing ads.
  5. Click Save.
  6. In the Preview menu at the top of the screen, select the viewport you’d like to use to preview the page edits: Desktop, Tablet, Phone. This will allow you to view the page outside the editor to ensure ads are being served as expected.
  7. Publish the page to begin serving Banno Marketing ads on the live site.
